No. Toby Carvery's FAQ says none of its meals are prepared or cooked to a halal standard, and that every supplier stuns animals before slaughter.

Toby's full answer to "Is the Meat Halal Certified?": "When we source our meat, our decisions are based on strict animal welfare, food safety and quality standards. We use a variety of suppliers, mostly in the UK and Ireland, but some from abroad. All of our suppliers, regardless of location, operate to strict EU animal welfare standards, which require that all animals are stunned before slaughter to ensure they are killed humanely. This is the industry standard used by all the major retailers and restaurants in the UK. None of the meals on our menus are prepared or cooked to a Halal standard."

Toby has given the same answer before: a 2016 statement quoted on change.org said the turkey, gammon, pork and beef on its carvery decks "are all non-Halal".

Does Toby Carvery serve pork?

Yes, every day. Roast pork and roast gammon are two of the four meats on the carvery, and pork is in several other dishes.

All of these are cooked in the same kitchens and served from the same deck as the other meats.

Yes, the standard deck roasties are. Toby's allergen guide lists "Beef Dripping Roast Potatoes" (230 kcal per 4) alongside a separate vegan roast potato (192 kcal per 4).

Toby's Famous Classic Gravy is not labelled vegetarian; there is a separate vegan gravy. Some dishes also contain alcohol, marked with an asterisk on Toby's menu, including the Caramelised Onion & Shallot Tarte Tatin, the Spicy Butternut Squash Tart and the Salmon & Dill Wellington.

What can you eat at Toby Carvery if you only eat halal?

Only meat-free food, and with care. The meat-free carvery (£9.49 Monday to Friday at Ainley Top, £8.79 to £10.29 elsewhere) with the vegan roast potatoes and vegan gravy avoids meat and dripping, and fish is on the menu as the Salmon & Dill Wellington.
